homesick, heavy

i turned away from your heavy magic,
from that world hidden just out of sight,
i forgot the names of those dense and ancient
ways we’d glimmer, like dust in the light
i thought i’d get found on the lost coast,
always homesick for somewhere unseen
and with sun-kissed cheeks, i went wandering
i saw redwoods, and wildflower fields
